Indian company launches two new inks for food packaging

Indian company Tirupati Inks has launched two new inks specially designed for food packaging applications that are said to provide the same qualities and properties as the solvent base inks.

EcoImpex and EcoAquva are aftermarket inks that join the company’s Streamline product line. Both are said to be high quality solvent and water based inks for gravure and flexo printers.

The inks are formulated to have similar color and physical properties to the solvent base flexible packaging inks. This means that existing colour profiles and settings can be used to achieve right densities and other physical properties during film printing for food packaging.

Gloss properties

The EcoImpex inks have been designed for wide web gravure and flexo printers, particularly for high speed gravure and Central Impression Type flexo printers, said the company. All the inks have technical and performance properties that match the solvent base flexible packaging inks. Those are claimed to include top quality gloss properties, low energy consumption when drying, excellent adhesion and chemical resistance while odors are kept to a minimum.

The EcoAquva inks have been developed for surface gravure and flexo prints. Like the EcoImpex inks, the properties of the EcoAquva inks match those of the original manufacturer's inks. These inks are said to be non flammable, non hazardous, have an good adhesion to a wide range of substrates, and, being economical to use, can provide customers with significant cost savings.
