The AMBEC AdaptA Series of First-in First-Out (FIFO) single file accumulation and buffering systems can handle rectangular, tapered, non-rounds, PET, HDPE, glass, cardboard any other products.
Accumulation conveyors hold product in place until given a signal to release it and it is the process of collecting products for temporary storage.
Buffering is the ability to collect products that can be delivered at a different rate than it is received.
Accumulation increases production line efficiency by allowing the “bottle-neck” to continue to operate while surrounding equipment is down.
The accumulation/buffer system maintains smooth product flow, product integrity and traceability, in the production line.
Effective changeover
AdaptA Series uses adaptive accumulation by turning an inconsistent flow of product of the upstream equipment onto controlled product output, with options to fit any line layout and allowing multiple product sizes and shapes on the same unit with minimum to zero change over, said the firm.
AdaptA MB (Mini-Buffer) Series offers a medium capacity, high speed, FIFO buffering system which allows pressure-less accumulation of difficult to handle containers without disrupting the product flow of the upstream equipment.
The AdaptA MB Series uses an expandable 180 degree zero-gap belt requiring virtually no change-over and is 10-50 feet in size with 20-100 feet of accumulation capacity.
It expands and retracts to maintain upstream and downstream equipment in sync, eliminating a “snow-ball” effect, said the Barry-Wehmiller subsidiary.
It allows equipment to be closely coupled while providing higher space availability than traditional conveyors and can bring machines closer together, eliminating conveyor lubricants and simplifying line controls.
Multi-lane feature
AdaptA ML (Multi-Lane) Series offers a high capacity and speed, multi-lane, accumulation system and it allows accumulation of difficult-to-handle containers without disrupting the product flow of the upstream equipment.
This is accomplished by indexing “on-the-fly” without allowing two products to contact, thus accumulating in a pressure-less manner.
Product is delivered downstream in a first-in first-out basis, creating a quality control advantage, added FleetwoodGoldcoWyard.
The company is a packaging machinery firm serving the food, beer and beverage, spirits, bakery, personal care, pharmaceutical, and household products industries.
