San Franciscan chocolate firm TCHO claims it is using ingredients never before used in chocolate bars for its new mixed flavour pairing additions.

The firm has added three bars to its TCHOPairings range - Galactic Gelato; Strawberry Rhubarb Pie; and TCHunky TCHOtella – which it says use ingredients that are completely new to chocolate bars such as freeze-dried mint gelato and custom baked piecrust.

Galactic Gelato mixes mint ice cream with dark chocolate chunks, while Strawberry Rhubarb Pie features fixings in a strawberry rhubarb pie, including the piecrust, with milk chocolate.

Meanwhile, TCHunky TCHOtella blends milk chocolate with hazelnut butter and sea salt.

TCHO launched the first product in its TCHOPairings range – Mokaccino – in fall 2012.

TCHO sells in specialty retailers in the US such as Whole Foods and supplies chocolate to Starbucks.

The company was established by Wired Magazine founder Louis Rossetto in 2005.

The bars are currently only available online, but will soon be rolled out across retailers in the US.
