Mondelez International has announced sponsorship deals with the US soccer team, Mexican club team Chivas and three American players including Clint Dempsey.

The deals come ahead of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

The Oreo maker has secured a three-year sponsorship as the official snacks of the US men’s and women’s soccer teams.

It has also entered a three year deal with Mexican team Club Deportivo Guadalajara, commonly known as Chivas.

In addition, the company has signed marketing deals with three individual US players: Clint Dempsey (Seattle Sounders FC), Alex Morgan (Portland Thorns FC) and Omar Gonzalez (LA Galaxy).

Mondelez subsidiary Cadbury previously came under fire​ from obesity groups for promoting foods considered unhealthy for children during the London 2012 Olympics. Ferrero​ has also been rapped for its sponsorship of sporting events and athletes.
