Demeyere replaces Filip Buggenhout, who has moved within Cargill to become its head of starches and sweeteners.
Demeyere joined Cargill from Vandemoortele in 1998 as a purchasing manager. She moved to the company’s cocoa & chocolate business in 2009 as risk manager and later became commercial director for the chocolate business.
“This is an exciting time to become the new Managing Director, Chocolate because not only are we experiencing strong cocoa, sugar and dairy market volatility but at the same time we are also growing the business, by expanding our facilities in Rouen, Berlin and Mouscron,” she said.
She will report to Jos de Loor, president of Cargill Cocoa & Chocolate.
