Meysman joins the board today (October 21), following David Fish’s decision to retire from the role.
He will bring over 25 years’ experience working with major global consumer goods businesses to the role, including Procter & Gamble, Douwe Egberts and Sara Lee (now Hillshire Brands Company).
Since leaving Sara Lee, he has also held non-executive directorships at a number of private and public companies in Europe and the UK, including Thomas Cook and Belgian fence firm Betafence NV.
‘Invaluable experience’
Martin Glenn, ceo of United Biscuits, said he was delighted with the appointment.
“Given we are considering the next stage of our future, someone with Meysman’s experience, who understands both packaged goods and operating in a public market environment, will bring invaluable experience to support the group,” he added.
Frank Meysman said United Biscuits was a “fantastic business”, with great heritage and iconic brands, and strong foundations for further growth.
