The collection is a limited edition within Lindt’s Swiss masterpieces pralines assortment, and will be exclusively available in travel retail starting in spring 2017, according to the premium Swiss chocolate company.
Lindt previously told ConfectioneryNews that travel retail remains an important channel for the company to present its premium chocolate products. It believes confectionery companies will launch more travel retail exclusives and special novelties in the future.
Perle de Cuivre and Pépites d‘Or
The Bijoux collection features two new pralines, including Perle de Cuivre and Pépites d‘Or.
Perle de Cuivre is made with cocoa bits and cookie chunks, enveloped in a fondant and coated with white and dark chocolate, while Pépites d‘Or is an almond praline made with Amaretti, coated in dark chocolate and decorated with golden sprinkles.
The company has not disclosed the retail price of the product or which airports will sell it.
To support the launch of the new pralines, Lindt will also showcase a live chocolate making session during TFWA.
Head of the Lindt global duty free division, Peter Zehnder, said in a statement, “Creating pralines is an art that requires considerable skills and craftsmanship, which our master chocolatiers have refined over more than 170 years.”
Lindt recently partnered with global luxury travel retailer DFS to bring its “shop-in-shop”concept to Hong Kong International Airport. The company posted a 11.1% net income increase in its half-year results.
