The four flavors, which are gluten-free and suitable for vegans, come in four flavors: Rock Salt, Salt & Vinegar, Sweet & Smoky Chilli and Salt & Pepper.
The company, set up by co-founders Cassandra Stavrou and Ryan Kohn five years ago target the healthy snack market by promoting “popcorn done properly” as a preferable alternative to savory snacks such as crisps.
This is the first time the duo have moved out of traditional popcorn which sells packs of Propercorn, with flavors including “sweet coconut and vanilla” and “sour cream and chive”, in supermarkets Tesco, Waitrose and Selfridges.
Stavrou told BakeryandSnacks, Crunch Corn is a ‘half-popped’ range for the nuts sector.
The company has been going from strength to strength since it began landing a £7m deal led by Piper Private Equity with involvement from Innocent Drinks founders Richard Reed, Adam Balon and Startups Awards judge Jon Wright via their fund JamJar Investments.
It is one of the fastest growing snack brands in the UK with three million bags of popcorn sold each month across 10 countries including the UK, Germany and the Netherlands. Turnover is expected to rise from £10m in 2015 to £15m this year.
The business partners also won Young Entrepreneur of the Year at the 2015 Startups Awards.
