ACMA targets confectionery, bakery & tea in brand refresh

ACMA, part of the Coesia Group in Italy, has updated its product portfolio as part of a brand refresh to get closer to customers.

The company says it has adopted a ‘new approach’ in naming its machines, embracing a customer-centric and sector-focused way of working.

‘Boero’-style chocolates

It has made its machines identifiable by name, reducing information about the product category and performance, referring to them by letters and numbers. For example, CW 600 F: Chocolate, Wrapping, 600 ppm, Flat (flat-base chocolates).

The company said the first letter now indicates the products the machine should be used for, such as T for Tea, C for Chocolate, S for Soap bars, etc. The second letter points out the type of packaging. The subsequent numbers indicate the maximum speed of the machine.

The offer for the confectionery market will include the CW 600 F, the latest addition to the multi-style machine family, and the CW 800 R, for round chocolates, heir of the 880UNI.

For the tea sector, ACMA has launched the TD 300, the latest addition to the double chamber bag packaging range, with a renewed design, enhanced performance and packaging format.

ACMA says it cooperates with the other companies of the Coesia Group to develop its machines and units capable of interacting with one another. From Flexlink conveyors to HAPA printing technology to the luxury cases managed by EMMECI machines, such as two-lobe bags and ‘Boero’-style chocolates.

Candy, sweets bakery

The firm has more than 90 years experience in candy, sweets and bakery products packaging. The CW 600 F is an alternate motion machine for multi-style flat base chocolate packaging, for markets that need a medium-speed technology (the machine can reach 600 strokes per minute), with high flexibility and high wrapping quality.

It can create different styles, such as bunch, double ribbon, Boero, wallet and patterns, and the CW 600 F reel can be unwound independently, for products with inner and outer wraps.

CW 800 R is an intermittent motion machine that can wrap oval and round chocolates. It is capable of two wrapping styles (double bow and rolled) with a fast style change. The confectionery machine portfolio also includes high-speed models, such as CW 850 R, multi-style, HS 1000 and GS 1000 stick machines, tray formers, overwrappers and vertical packaging machines.

Tecnomeccanica, which merged with ACMA in March this year, has a portfolio of four technologies; TD 300, the company’s latest addition to create double chamber bags with lace and double knot tag, capable of reaching 300 bags/minute, made without using glue and staples.

TE 500 (500 bpm) for thermos sealed double chamber with lace and tag; TM 320 high-speed packaging of thermos sealed bags with lace and tag and the TL 180, which processes whole tea leaves with single chamber with lace and tags at low speed (180 bpm).

ACMA machines that produce thermos sealed bags can operate recyclable and biodegradable materials, such as PLA (polylactic acid), for a product with a low environmental impact.

ACMA will be exhibiting at ProSweets confectionery trade fair from January 28-31 2018, in Cologne, Germany.
