Yowie Group will expand across the US next month after securing a deal to sell Yowie Chocolates and Animal Figurines across 7-Eleven and CVS Health Stores.

Thanks to its success in North America, the company plans to further expand into Australia, New Zealand and Asia and launch a second brand roll-out across Europe and the Middle East.

Animals under threat

Yowie makes fun animal figurines to encourage children to learn about the natural world and understand its need for protection. Its range includes 18 wildlife animals and six Yowie characters, with backstories on each one plus games and videos online.

Cove Overley, global chief marketing officer, Yowie Group, said it was pleased with the new deal as it encompasses more than 10,000 locations, which is fantastic coverage for the brand (50 US states in total).

Other retail outlets that carry the brand include: Circle K, Wal-Mart, Walgreens, Albertsons, Meijer, and Safeway.

Color-coded

The one-ounce chocolates are wrapped in foil and contain a limited-edition figurine, which comes with a leaflet that profiles the animal.

Each animal is color coded to explain whether it is critically endangered, endangered, vulnerable, near threatened or not threatened.

Yowie Group was first listed on the Australian Securities Exchange in December 2012 under the name ‘YOW’. Its head office is based in Perth, Western Australia.
