PEZ launches Royal Wedding souvenir candy holders for charity

Sweets manufacturer PEZ has launched a pair of Royal Wedding souvenir candy holders to celebrate the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

The candy dispensers will be auctioned on Ebay from May 7 to 13, with all proceeds going towards the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Gabriele Hofinger, head of marketing, PEZ, said Make-A-Wish fulfils wishes for children with critical illnesses to bring them happiness, create great memories and give them strength to cope with their challenges.

"Both PEZ and Make-A-Wish have been dedicated to bringing smiles to children's faces for generations. We are happy to contribute to making more wishes come true," she said.

Hofinger added the campaign is also an opportunity to shine a light on PEZ’s collector items.

For example, for the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton in 2011, PEZ auctioned a pair of royal dispensers on eBay for charity.

A fan from Connecticut paid £8,200 ($13,360) to win the sweets dispensers in the likeness of Prince William and his fiancée and the money went to the Starlight Children’s Foundation.
