Fazer Confectionery appoints former Amcor boss as MD

Fazer Confectionery has appointed Nathalie Ahlström, former VP & GM Indonesia, Singapore & India, Amcor, as managing director, starting in November this year.

Prior to Amcor, Ahlström worked for Huhtamäki as director strategy and business development, and was a consultant at Pöyry.

She spent six years at Amcor and has an international background working in Singapore and Switzerland, as well as handling business in countries, such as India and Indonesia.

Speaking about her new role, Ahlström said: “Fazer symbolises Finland for me. It is a great brand and a well led company with great potential for internationalisation.

I’m very much looking forward to joining the Fazer team and together taking the business to the next level.

Fazer is an international family-owned company offering bakery, confectionery, biscuit and grain products, plant-based meals, non-dairy products, and on-the-go food and drinks.

The Group operates in eight countries and exports to around 40 countries.

Nathalie Ahlström is a result and solution oriented change leader with broad experience in driving major international development projects as well as merging acquired businesses,” said Christoph Vitzthum, president/CEO, Fazer Group.

Her competence and experience will complement Fazer’s group management team in executing Fazer’s growth strategy to transform into a modern sustainable food company. She is also well suited to lead the confectionery business on its future internationalisation path.”
