New brand is Rainforest Alliance certified and supported by first e-commerce chocolate sales platform in Europe.

Cargill has announced it is launching an artisan chocolate brand Veliche Gourmet in the Netherlands, sourced from 100% Rainforest Alliance Certified farms.

The cocoa and  chocolate producer debuts the new brand at country’s leading hospitality fair – Horecava, in Amsterdam from today until 10 January.

Cargill will be presenting workshops and demonstrations showing how Veliche Gourmet can work for artisans, and highlighting the special offer available to new customers.

Inge Demeyere, managing director for Cargill’s chocolates and compound activities in Europe, explains: “We are proud to launch Veliche Gourmet, our high quality Belgian chocolate range with outstanding sensorial profile that brings a full, smooth and superior taste to professional artisans in the Netherlands. The whole range is 100% sourced from Rainforest Alliance Certified farms, meaning our chocolate is a treat well treated – right from its origin.”

Melting curve

Cargill says its Veliche Gourmet range is suitable for every application and is remarkably workable, thanks to its optimal melting curve, producing perfect results for the professional artisan.

The launch of Veliche Gourmet is supported by our new e-commerce platform – which makes us the only vertically-integrated chocolate producer in Europe to provide an e-commerce platform where end-users can purchase directly from the supplier”, continues Demeyere.

Veliche Gourmet is currently available in Belgium, the UK, Ireland and selected countries in the Asia-Pacific region and its launch in the Netherlands is the first step in expanding its availability across Europe.
