Masterchef 2018 finalist, David Crichton has launched a range of luxury chocolates aimed at the premium market. His Careless Collection is described as ‘a contemporary new range of handmade luxury chocolate bars in unique flavors and vibrant, glossy colors.’
Crichton said he created each recipe himself, “offering diverse flavor combinations for sophisticated palates”.
The chocolates come in a stylish midnight blue and gold embossed box (£12.50/$15.08 ) and feature four individual bars, each with their own distinctive filling.
The 71% Ecuadorian dark chocolate bar is filled with a salted butter caramel, olive oil and balsamic vinegar ganache, while the Venezuelan milk chocolate variant contains an exotic blend of toasted coconut and lime. The white chocolate bar has a blueberry, Tonka bean and basil filling, and the striking pink bar is a combination of fruity ruby chocolate filled with muscovado caramel and a dark chocolate ganache with notes of rose and lychee, according to the promotion's publicity.
In addition, Crichton has launched a dairy-free Careless Vegan Collection box featuring rich dark chocolate bars made from the ‘highly sought after Nacional cocoa’ in two unusual flavours – smoked chilli and gianduja, and speculoos truffle.
He told ConfectioneryNews that the idea for the chocolates originated on the show, Masterchef, when the contestants were tasked with creating a dish for an idol. David took inspiration from George Michael's song 'Careless Whisper' and the classic chocolate bar Wispa.
