The German confectioner increases its investment in Candy Kittens, a UK-based vegan confectionery manufacturer, to 50% of its share capital, representing a majority stake in the busines as part of a multi-million-pound deal.

Founded in 2012 by Jamie Laing, star of the award-winning British TV series ‘Made in Chelsea’, and Ed Williams in London, the company has quickly become a well-known candy brand with its innovative gourmet sweets in authentic flavors and original packaging.

"With the acquisition of a majority stake in Candy Kittens, we continue to consistently pursue our strategy of investing in strong brands in Europe, said Bastian Fassin, managing partner of Katjes International. “With its natural and vegetarian fruit gums for adults, the company has been ahead of confectionery trends and is growing significantly faster than the market.”

The transaction is expected to be completed by the end of the month.
