To celebrate the opening (Thursday, 12 December) renowned New York City sommelier Sarah Thomas will mingle with guests to sample the luxury chocolatier’s most recent collection: Neuhaus’ Wine Pairing Collection.
Guests will also get a first glimpse at the giant chocolate Christmas tree statue, created by one of Neuhaus’ Master Chocolatiers.
The flagship store will be the company’s sixth outlet in New York City.
“We’ve grown with such an amazing, loyal following in New York that we really feel a part of the fabric of these neighborhoods. We actually still find that many of our customers first discover us in Belgium – and love to find us in New York.” Antony Verbaeys, Neuhaus’ US managing director, said.
“Hudson Yards is a dream location for Neuhaus to open our new US Flagship boutique. We’re thrilled to open our doors next to some of the world’s finest brands in terms of quality, design and craftsmanship. We’ve even invited one of our Master Chocolatiers from Belgium to create a chocolate sculpture to celebrate the occasion.”
Neuhaus, established 1857, is world-renowned as the premier creator of luxury Belgian chocolates. Jean Neuhaus Jr, invented the Belgian chocolate praline in 1912, and all Neuhaus pralines and truffles are still made entirely in Belgium in an Atelier near Brussels and imported into the US fresh weekly.
