“It is a time to celebrate the authentic, fun treats that candy companies have been producing for more than 100 years.
“For candy makers and retailers alike, National Candy Month can also help address the confectionery sales gap between Easter and Halloween while driving category permissibility based on emotional wellbeing and industry leadership,” the NCA said.
In addition, National Candy Month provides an opportunity to discuss the role candy can play in a happy, balanced lifestyle, including helping consumers make informed choices by providing more information and more options, like smaller pack sizes and clear calorie labels on the front of packaging.
The NCA estimates this summer promotional opportunity has the potential to add $500m in incremental sales to the confectionery category overall.
