Vegan chocolate producer, Ombar, claims to be leading the change for climate transparency by partnering with Carbon Cloud, the climate footprint software, to measure full supply chain emissions for each bar in the company's Oat M’lk range.

Ombar claims other brands are moving too slowly and calls on big and small brands to take full responsibility for their climate impact, at a time when climate transparency.

The UK company said consumers have a right to know the climate impact of the food they buy to make better-informed decisions.

Being the first in their category in the UK, Ombar Chocolate is a perfect example of a leading and innovative partner. Their motivation to understand their climate footprint and to make informed decisions to lower it is an inspiration on how to tackle the climate issue in a systematic and structured way,” said David Bryngelsson, CEO of CarbonCloud.

Ombar sources its cacao directly from farmers' cooperatives in Ecuador, paying more than the recommended Fairtrade price. All of Ombar’s chocolate is certified organic, vegan and Fairtrade.
