If you’ve stayed at one of the more than 660 hotels and resorts under the DoubleTree by Hilton portfolio, chances are you’ve been inducted into the very elite group to savour one of their signature cookies. Served warm and packed with gooey chocolate chips and crunchy walnuts, these decadent treats are given to all guests upon checking in.
The concept began in 1986, with approximately 75,000 cookies handed out each day (more than 27 million per year).
The cookies are baked on site every day and contain around 20 Ghirardelli chocolate chips per cookie.
In 2017, DoubleTree began offering a nut-free alternative and now they’ve gone a step further. Created by Partake Foods, DoubleTree’s newest addition is free of the top nine allergens to ensure even more guests are able to experience the warm welcome.
While being really on point to appeal to the growing consumer preferences for alternative dietary requirements, it’s also a life-saver for many, with over 32 million people in the US impacted by deadly food allergies and similarly high percentages with food intolerances.
“With DoubleTree by Hilton’s allergy-friendly cookie, we’re reshaping the concept of hospitality to be more inclusive and considerate,” said Matt Schuyler, chief brand officer, Hilton.
“We’re serving not just a cookie but a promise of care and personalisation for each guest who walks through our doors.”
To commemorate National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day
The roll-out of the allergy-free cookie begins today (4 August) to honour National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day, available in all United States DoubleTree by Hilton Hotels - offered during check-in - in individually packaged to ensure safety from cross-contamination.
For more than 50 years, DoubleTree by Hilton has made it its mission to provide guests with a warm welcome and comfortable stay, and this collaboration aims to eliminate just one of the food-related stressors associated with travel.
Created in 2016 by Denise Woodard when her daughter was diagnosed with multiple food allergies, Partake is a Certified B Corp that produces allergy-friendly goods, including cookies, baking mixes and pancake & waffle mixes that are certified gluten-free, non-GMO, vegan and free of the top 9 allergens (wheat, tree nuts, peanuts, milk, eggs, soy, fish, sesame, and shellfish).
With radical inclusivity at its core, Partake partners with non-profit actively pursuing an end to food insecurity and creates career opportunities for HBCU students with their 501c3, Black Futures Fellowship. In 2022, Partake was named #45 on the Inc 5000 list.
