Vegan and free from chocolate brand, NOMO says it ‘won big’ at the 2023 Veggie Awards, taking home gold in the Vegan Snacks category for its Caramel Filled Bar.

The Veggie Awards, which took place earlier this month, celebrate the best in cruelty-free brands, judged by leading celebrities and influencers in the plant-based industry. It offers consumers a guide for the best plant-based products across categories, encouraging people to make a difference by buying vegetarian, vegan, and ethically sourced products.

The category was judged by leading plant-based chef Niki Webster, founder of Rebel Recipes and author of six cookbooks.

Filled with ‘gooey caramel and encased in classic creamy choc’, NOMO’s Caramel Filled Bar is designed so no one needs to miss out on beloved flavours due to dietary restrictions.

The awards follow a highly successful year for NOMO. The brand experienced a YoY value growth of 31.5% over 52 weeks to 2 December 2023, surpassing the total free-from-chocolate market growth of 17.1%. NOMO’s value share of the free-from-chocolate market rose from 15.7% to 17.6% in the latest 52 weeks and had six out of the top 10 performing SKUs from a value perspective in the 12 weeks leading up to 2 December 2023.

Emma Perrett, Marketing Controller at Kinnerton Confectionery, said: “We are delighted to have won gold at the Veggie Awards. Our Caramel Filled Bar is a classic that appeals to both vegan and free-from audiences and a mainstream market, and we are excited to share it with a growing market demanding high-quality plant-based options.

“Our mission is to create treats that can be enjoyed by all that never compromise on taste, regardless of dietary restrictions. We are proud to be recognised for our innovation in the category, and we’re excited to bring even more new products to the market this year.”
