Kavita Jain and Tim Warren have joined the Mars Wrigley Global Emerging Markets (GEM) team as vice president of supply chain and vice president of research development, respectively.
Jain has a rich career history in managing supply chains in fast growth, emerging markets. For example, in her previous role at Unilever, where she was appointed as Unilever South Asia’s first female VP of supply chains, she oversaw the supply chains linked with more than 25 manufacturing sites within the foods and ice cream business in India.
Warren also joins the company from Unilever, bringing more than two decades of experience across R&D and supply chain roles.
He began his career as a management trainee in South Africa; and prior to coming on board at Mars Wrigley GEM, he was the R&D lead for the Vegetarian Butcher, a plant-based meat division within Unilever.
The duo will play key roles in their new positions, as Mars Wrigley GEM sets its sights on growing across more than 140 markets, including some of the fastest growing economies in the world: Brazil, India, Egypt, and Australia.
Currently, the business operates 14 factories that supply chocolate, fruit, nut, and gum snacks to other GEM markets, as well as Western Europe and North America. It has a strong emphasis on product innovation, with its sites experimenting with new snacking products for local or regional markets, as well as innovations such as heat resistant chocolate and wafer versions of iconic brands.
