Nestlé offloads Italian biscuit brand Ore Liete
The Tedesco Group will produce the brand from a newly built 30,000 sq m facility in Pierantonio.
Ore Liete biscuits were previously produced by Nestlé under its Perugina umbrella brand.
The sale follows Nestlé Italia's decision in March to develop chocolate pralines brand Baci, also produced under the Perugina umbrella, into a global brand. Last month it sold six other Italian confectionery brands including Rossana and Fondenti to Italian manufacturer Fida.
Nestlé’s Italian subsidiary has set up a new Confectionery International Business Unit, headed by Valeria Norreri, who previously oversaw the international expansion of Nestlé water brand S. Pellegrino.
The Tedesco Group said the Ore Liete acquisition would expand its portfolio, which includes biscuit brand GranArt and cakes unit Piselli.
